Advantages of using QuickBooks Time make Timekeeping more Efficient

Benefits of QuickBooks Time

Timekeeping in QuickBooks is not a new feature. In fact, QuickBooks allows business owners to keep up with time keeping from the moment they entered in their employee’s information. QuickBooks can also track when employees clock in and out for work and their total hours worked each day which can be helpful if an employer needs to know what times specific employees were at work. This article will go into further detail about QuickBooks time and how it helps make timekeeping more efficient for both employees and employers alike.

  • QuickBooks Time makes it easy to add your current client/job to your schedule so that you can make sure you get the required number of job done before you clock out for the day.

  • You can also add a new client/job to your schedule in QuickBooks Time. This is great for when an employer needs additional work done or when they want to send employees notifications so that they know they have additional work.

  • QuickBooks has a mobile app which makes it extremely easy to keep track of how long you have been working with clients even if you don’t have access to a computer at the moment.

  • QuickBooks time saves companies from having employees forget about what time they clocked in and out for their shift. All employers need to do is log into QuickBooks, enter the employee name and QuickBooks will take care of the rest.

If your payroll system uses QuickBooks, then switching over to QuickBooks time is not only easier but it can save you money too. QuickBooks has a guide on their website which will show you how to connect your QuickBooks payroll system with QuickBooks Time so that you do not have two different systems running at the same time.

When employees forget about clocking out for breaks or lunch then they could technically be working longer hours without receiving overtime pay. QuickBooks time makes it easy to keep track of all employee’s hours, including break and lunch times. QuickBooks also keeps track of which employees are available to work on specific projects. Before QuickBooks time if an employer forgot to clock in or out, or even if they forgot to change over projects, an employee may be completing work for longer than they should which could be without pay. QuickBooks time makes it easy for employers to track their employees’ hours and projects that each employee is working on.

QuickBooks Time allows employees to change or add their availability. This works by employees entering the days that they are available to work then QuickBooks calculates how many hours an employee can work that week based on their schedule.   An example of this would be if Monday through Friday is the only days an employee is required to work but QuickBooks automatically fills in Saturday and Sunday as a half day because the hours worked over a certain amount of days within a week results in overtime pay. If a manager wants an employee to make themselves available all five days of the workweek, then QuickBooks allows the manager to simply click “Select all” and QuickBooks will block out Saturday and Sunday.

QuickBooks time automatically updates employee time sheet about new jobs that need to be completed. All QuickBooks does is send a notification to the selected employee telling them what needs to be done, where they are required to complete this work, and when it needs to be done by. QuickBooks time can notify employees through text message or email which allows employers yet another way of keeping in touch with their employees.
