QuickBooks Time allows employees to change or add their availability. This works by employees entering the days that they are available to work then QuickBooks calculates how many hours an employee can work that week based on their schedule.   An example of this would be if Monday through Friday is the only days an employee is required to work but QuickBooks automatically fills in Saturday and Sunday as a half day because the hours worked over a certain amount of days within a week results in overtime pay. If a manager wants an employee to make themselves available all five days of the workweek, then QuickBooks allows the manager to simply click “Select all” and QuickBooks will block out Saturday and Sunday.

All QuickBooks does is send a notification to the selected employee telling them what needs to be done, where they are required to complete this work, and when it needs to be done by. QuickBooks time can notify employees through text message or email which allows employers yet another way of keeping in touch with their employees.
