This is because the company is more concerned with high returns. If Netflix workers require a particular amount of days to relax, the company will allow them that, as long as they get the work done. The logic behind this policy is that taking leaves can help keep the mind stimulated, and workers who feel halted often perform better when they get back to work.

However, Netflix’s policy may not apply to other companies. Before forming solutions to address work-life balance, HR experts should interview their workers about what they want. If the preponderance desires less overtime work, perhaps managers can re-evaluate the allocation of work among employees or hire new staff to help carry the load.
